Phil Barth and JobsOhio were the honorees at JASCO’s 28th Anniversary Gala held at COSI (Center of Science and Industry) on April 24. Phil Barth, former Honorary Consul of Japan in Columbus and one of the founding members of JASCO, has served the organization and central Ohio for decades. We were excited to recognize his legacy with the Bradley M. Richardson Award. John Kahle from American Honda Motor Company presented the award. JobsOhio has connected Japanese businesses to government offices and US businesses statewide. Megan O’Callaghan, representing the City of Dublin, in her presentation of the JASCO Corporate Partnership Award, spoke about the impact of JobsOhio’s services that enforce the Japan-US relationship. Benedict Park gave an acceptance speech on behalf of JobsOhio. Congratulations to both!

The 130 attendees enjoyed the remarks given by Consul General of Japan in Detroit, Hajime (Jimmy) Kishimori, who spoke about the strong ties that Japanese businesses and people of Japan enjoy in the state of Ohio.

Another feature of the program was a special presentation about the exciting future of COSI by Andy Aichele. Emceeing the night’s program was Board member Brian Cataldi, who represented a presenting sponsor, TS Tech Americas Inc. Tony Weis spoke on behalf of another presenting sponsor, Vorys, Sater, Seimour and Pease. Mari Noda, Interim Executive Director, gave an update on JASCO activities and Noriko Mills, President of JASCO Board of Directors concluded the event with an encouraging outlook into our future partnerships.
