FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions on Japanese Program Registration, Tuition, Withdrawal and Refund

1. Q: Does my corporate membership include my family? A: Yes. Your family residing at the same address as you are also covered. This is also true of employees of Educational, government, and non-profit members.

2. Q: At what point do I have to be a member to receive a discount? A: You must be a member at the time of registration to receive the member discount.

3. Q: Is my individual membership discount effective for one year upon my joining JASCO? A: Not necessarily. JASCO membership operates on a calendar-year basis. Your membership expires on December 31 of each year. Please renew your membership early for the next year to avoid lapse in your membership.

4. Q: Since JASCO membership runs for calendar year, doesn't it disadvantage individuals who become members close to the end of the year? A: We do encourage everybody to become a member early in the year to take full advantage of the membership. Still, registration for a single Japanese course with individual membership discount more than pays for your annual JASCO individual membership.

5. Q: The member discount looks great. Should I consider becoming an individual member? A: By all means! You will recover your membership in a single session registration and receive additional benefits.

6. Q: If my course is canceled, will I get a refund? A: We determine if a course needs to be canceled before the first day of classes. If the course is canceled before the first day of classes, you will receive a full refund of tuition and transaction fee.

7. Q: If I cancel my registration before classes begin, will I get a refund? A: Yes, if you withdraw before the first day of classes, you receive a full refund of tuition, but not the transaction/processing fee. You need to pay a $10 transaction/processing fee.

8. Q: What if I need to withdraw from a course after classes begin? Do I get partial refund A: We refund 50% of tuition but not the transaction fee and a $10 processing fee, if you withdraw after the first day of classes and before the second day of classes. There is no refund after the second day of classes.
