Advanced Japanese: Inside the Japanese Mind 日本人の心をのぞく日本語 Discover the richness of Japanese culture through language in this uniquely designed course exploring Japanese ways of thinking. Through selected media and readings, students will gain deeper insight into cultural values, perspectives, and social norms that shape everyday life in Japan. Participants will take an active role in learning by engaging in dynamic discussions on a variety of topics, encouraging both language development and cultural understanding in an interactive environment. This course is ideal for students who can comfortably participate in extended conversations and read Japanese texts with support. Prior experience living in Japan or studying at the college level is beneficial, but not required. We welcome learners with diverse language backgrounds, creating an inclusive and supportive classroom community. The course is guided by the textbook 日本人の心がわかる日本語, exploring key themes throughout the session. If you are interested, we encourage you to take a closer look and join us for this exciting learning experience. This class uses the textbook "日本人の心をのぞく日本語 Inside the Japanese Mind". The instructor will provide the textbook, and new students purchase textbook from the instructor on the first day of class for $32. A late fee of $10 will be added for applications submitted after the deadline. * This course is designed for adults who are in high school (15 years old/ 9th grade) or up.

Cancellation Policy
1. The final course fee is $258 for JASCO member and $328 for Non-member. The transaction fee of $8 is added in the pricing of the course fee ($250 for JASCO member and $320 for Non-member). The textbook fee is not included and prepare your own textbook by yourself before the classes start. Of note, Survival courses do not require textbooks. 2. This program is based on a minimum enrollment of 5 students per course. JASCO reserves the right to cancel the course when the required minimum enrollment is not met. We determine if a course needs to be canceled before the first day of classes. If the course is canceled before the first day of classes, you will receive a full refund including the transaction/processing fee. 3. If you withdraw before the first day of classes, you receive a full refund of tuition but not the transaction/processing fee. An additional refund transaction/processing fee of $10 will be charged. 4. We refund 50% of tuition but not the transaction/processing fee. if you withdraw after the first day of classes and before the second day of classes. An additional refund transaction/processing fee of $10 will be charged. 5. There is no refund after the second day of classes. 6. A late fee of $10 will be added for applications submitted after the deadline.
